The Priestly tradition (P) has been recognized formore than a century by Old Testament scholars as oneof the major literary strata in the formation of the Pentateuch.The present study investigates the nature of Pby taking the flood narrative (Gn 6,5-9,17), one of theimportant texts in the Old Testament, and offers a newdetailed redaction-, historical and text-critical study.
