Fantasie über "La Traviata" - Emmanuel Pahud presents. Flöte und Klavier. Partitur.

This edition of the Traviata Fantasy for flute and piano is based on two popular arrangements by the famous Italian flautists Emanuele Krakamp (1813 - 1883) and Giulio Briccialdi (1818 - 1881). Both were also composers and produced numerous compositions of their own as well as arrangements of famous works by their contemporaries. The latter included their fantasies on themes from Giuseppe Verdi's La Traviata. Yoel Gamzou has combined both arrangements to create the orchestral version of the Fantasy on La Traviata that is also published by Universal Edition. The present edition of the Fantasy on La Traviata for flute and piano also serves as the piano score of Yoel Gamzou's orchestral version that is published by Universal Edition. We musicians are always on the lookout for new sounds and interesting repertoire that give our instrument an unmistakable profile. The Flute Collection is my contribution to this search. Die vorliegende Ausgabe der Traviata-Fantasie, die Emmanuel Pahud in der Flötenserie The Flute Collection vorstellt, ist aufs Neue eine wunderbare Bereicherung der virtuosen Flötenliteratur. Die Flötenbearbeitung dieser berühmten, ausweglosen Liebesgeschichte nahmen die beiden Italiener Emanuele Krakamp und Giulio Briccialdi im 19. Jahrhundert vor. Sie war ursprünglich als Hausmusik gedacht, um Verdis berührende Melodien auch abseits des Opernhauses hören und vor allem spielen zu können. Die vorliegende Klavierfassung dient auch als Klavierauszug zur Orchesterfassung von Yoel Gamzou. Für Aufführungen mit Orchester ist das Orchestermaterial leihweise erhältlich. "Wir Musiker und Musikerinnen befinden uns ständig auf der Suche nach neuen Klängen und interessantem Repertoire, was uns erlaubt, dem Instrument unverwechselbare Gestalt zu verleihen. Mit The Flute Collection versuchen wir unseren Beitrag dazu zu leisten. Schließlich soll unsere eigene Fantasie doch die allerletzte Grenze sein."
