Dealing with color is a complex topic: influenced by standards, fashions, and trends, we derive our ideas and concepts from color theories, intuition, and personal preferences. Most color classification systems available today are based on purely quantitative principles and include well over 1,500 colors. So how do we choose a particular color?

Building on the success of the first edition, Katrin Trautwein presents a revised selection of 225 colors: new ones that develop a special beauty in the LED-light replaced some previous colors.

Each color is presented with a handmade paint sample. Information on each color's composition and origin is provided, and the features that distinguish it for architecture and design work are described.
