'Liability Aspects of Automated Systems': The thesis shows the conflict between potential and risk of automated systems in a cross-application analysis. The focus is on demonstrating that the German liability law in place can often reflect these conflicts of interests as well as on identifying needs for adaptation. Particular emphasis lies on product liability and tort law as well as new types of liability subjects, current EU developments and fields of application (autonomous driving, medical surgical robots).
